Dev Blog #8: Supply Line
Greetings Comrades,
We’ll start off with the basics.
It has been a few weeks since our last update, which isn’t much, but yet again we managed to do much in this not-much amount of weeks, um… yeah. Basics end here.
Support is on the Way
The Scavengers were literally thrown all over the “map”. But that’s not a problem.
Soon, they came up with… a… flying… supply line!? The much needed reinforcements can now be literally dropped anywhere. “How can it work?” you say... Given the supply lines are deep within (partially) friendly ground, any commissioned aircraft can be turned into the pigeon of metal death, eh, it just works, you know. Like that.
And so, once again, we procounce you, the Scavengers Air Strip… meh, what the… Suffice to say the other party member is a modified Antonov AN70.

Oh, remeber we said it delivers goods… who said paratroopers don’t fit. Soviet legacy allows much needed versatility. But this time Antonov 124 got the job doing Para-drops as well as bomb delivery to the field of battle. (Doing both simultaneously was scrapped after several failed attempts.)
The Warshop

Well, some stones are heavier than others… Imagine the Mammoth Tank being dropped. Imagine. (Slow death of excessive laughing approaching.)

It also allows to do some modifications to the units after they’ve been delivered by air.



Story Board Concepts

Comrade “General” has rejoined the team and will fill the position of a Concept & Story Board Artist. Take a look at some of his works.

Scene #1: last moments of RA1 game story line (last mission) and simultanously the very first moments of C&C Renovatio.
Scene #2: The Inner Circle escapes Moscow, but gets intercepted by a couple of Allied prototype bomber & spy fighters. What damage they could do… it’s supposed to be a damn test flight (looking for secret weapons), before the dogfight made one of the MiG’s Soviet top pilots steer into the remaining Allied fighter, after having a major weapon failure. (He catapults. Nothing to see here…)


The SpotLight!
Some of you allredy know… or not… C&C3 Tiberium: Ice storm has relased a media update too. What coincidence! (Or not? (again...)) Read it HERE.


Contribute

One of the followers known as Darkkanex has supplied us with brand new toys on the field. The models were originally made for a Crysis C&C mod, but don’t worry, we’re not crazy enough to put ‘em in without some mesh optimization. Or not?
So, the toys:


The Mobile Headquarters:
This is not an MCV. If this gets blown to hell, so do you with it! Protect it no mather what in one of the game’s modes involving it, of course.
The allied cargo truck:
Transports troops. There’s quite a bit of space in it… not that it’s comfy.
MLRS:
Newest addition to the special forces, supporting the Black Ops with its… 12 missiles. Can take out any buildings or enemy units from distance, but beware of it’s chocolate armor. What!? Dude, yes, it’s chocolate.

Another awesome Update, Good to see some more connections between the storylines here, Maybe the Allies should steal the mammoth tank technology at this point to overite the problems of coming up with a new solution for the scavengers to build one/ or deliver one to the battlefield;)

Hello everyone, decided to register here so I can comment on the updates.

Seems like quite few details have been lost in the optimization process on my models =), might I ask what the current triangle value is on those models? I also like the idea with light vehicles being flown in and heavy ones being produced in war factories, seems logical and I think it's going to result in some interesting tactics.

Triva: My models where originally done in 2004 for a Renegade/Half-life2/Far Cry mod (which died/stopped), then they were to be used in a Crysis mod (which also died) and finally we're here. I'm rooting for that this time they are going to make it into the gameplay.

I really like the idea of this mod, and the way that you are achieving this reminds me of the old-Westwood Studios (pre EA) C&C series, in my opinion when the games had a perfect mix between seriousness, humor, action and fun.

Good luck, I'm eagerly awaiting the release of this fine looking mod.
